A significant contribution

Sir,

The statement of the CC of the CGPI dated January 10, 2010 entitled `Too long have we suffered this colonial style Republic! Working class must reconstitute the Indian Union! ' is an important contribution in the highest tradition of Marxism-Leninism.

It looks at the historicity and ground realities of present day India and places in context the rise of the Indian Union. It points out that it is based on the Constitution of 1950 that was architected by the Indian bourgeoisie into whose hands the supreme power moved into with the departure of the colonial power. This transfer did not happen in a peaceful manner, and was accompanied by a blood-bath of a magnitude not witnessed in history, accompanied by what is now recognized as the largest exodus and transfer of populations in human history. The scorecard read that the winner of this state of affairs was the bourgeoisie and the loser the people of India.

Reaping the benefits of this, the bourgeoisie has fattened itself on a scale again not witnessed before at least in Indian history. However, its dialectical opposite, the working class has also come into being, and is truly a single working class. United by the objective consideration that it has nothing to contribute except its labour, and composed of men and women (and children!) from all over India, it finds itself as the nascent ascendant class that must take wing and take the people of India out of the morass in which it finds itself.

The CGPI stands as the vanguard of this class, armed with the most potent revolutionary theory. By deliberating on the question of power and the role of the working class and the role of the Communist Party itself, CGPI is preparing to lead in this historic mission.
