Sir,

I am writing to thank the General Secretary of our party, Com. Lal Singh for his detailed and incisive article entitled "Condemn state terror and persecution in the name of curbing naxalism!  Halt the capitalist land grab and demand secure livelihood for all!'' that was published recently in MEL and on the party web-site.

The article clearly brings out many points that are worth recalling:

*    That there is now an unprecedented military campaign that is being planned by the Indian state in the tribal regions of the country under the pretext of curbing naxalism,

*    That the people of India are those who should decide how its resources be used,

*    That the Indian capitalist class is sharply coming out as the enemy of all Indian people in assisting the plunder of our land, and that the Indian state stands as its fountainhead,

*    That there is growing resistance to these activities by the people of India and indeed by principled Communists,

*    That all these forces opposing what is a state-sponsored land grab should be supported.

I would further like to submit that at this point the working class led by Communists such as ourselves should be at the forefront of this struggle. It is we who are the friends and well-wishers of the tribal peoples of India.  Every attempt by the big bourgeoisie to pull the wool over the eyes of the people and to cause disorientation should be opposed.
