Condemn all foreign interference in the internal affairs of Nepal
People's Voice condemns with deep anger, the blatant interference of the Indian state, the US imperialists and other foreign powers in the internal affairs of Nepal.
Nepal is in the midst of serious political crisis. The open confrontation between the government and the army chief, the dismissal of the army chief by the government followed by his reinstatement by the President, the resignation of the Prime Minister, and the difficulty of forming a new government are symptoms of this crisis.
Within Nepal, the ruling classes, as well as the elements in the armed forces and state apparatus linked with the overthrown monarchy have been trying their utmost to ensure that their interests are preserved. This is only to be expected. At the same time, the working masses are increasingly expressing their dissatisfaction that the government that has been established following the elections to the Constituent Assembly has not done anything substantial to address their concerns. This conflict between the interests of the ruling classes and the interests of the working masses is at the heart of political crisis of Nepal.
These are internal affairs of the fraternal people of Nepal. The Indian working class and people wish the fraternal Nepalese people well. We are firmly opposed to the efforts of foreign powers to fish in the troubled waters of Nepal to advance their own geopolitical interests at the cost of the rights and interests of the Nepalese people.
According to all indications, various imperialist powers, including the US, India, and European powers as well as China are fishing in the troubled waters of Nepal. They want to utilise the crisis in Nepal to advance their own imperial interests, including the plunder of the land and labour and resources of Nepalese people. They are also carrying out this interference to advance their own geo-strategic goals with respect to their rivals.
According to reports, the Indian state, with the backing of the US and some other powers, has become hyperactive in the present crisis in Nepal. It does not want to lose its present privileged position in Nepal, as epitomised by the Indo Nepal treaty, and in the privileged position for Indian capital and the Indian armed forces vis a vis Nepal. The Indian working class and people must firmly oppose India's interference in the internal affairs of Nepal.
People's Voice calls upon the working class and people of India to firmly defend the right of the people of Nepal to determine their own future, free from all foreign interference.
