9th Convention of Hind Naujavan Ekta Sabha, Delhi
The 9th Convention of the Hind Naujavan Ekta Sabha (HNES), Delhi was convened in Urdu Bhavan near ITO on May 31, 2009. The Convention got off to an enthusiastic start with the hall filled with militant activists, hundreds of its members and supporters, reverberating with the slogan of HNES “Organise, become the rulers and transform th e society”.
Lokesh Kumar, one of the leading activists of the organization, welcomed all present and invited the Presidium — Bijju Nayak – the Prime Minister of HNES, Sucharita – member of the All India Council of Lok Raj Sangathan and Anand – Chief Minister of the Delhi HNES to conduct the proceedings.
The programme began with the song “rasthe pe tumhare chalte hum” rendered by the youth of Rang Bhoomi Natya Samooh (taking the vow to follow the glorious path of Bhagat Singh).
This was followed by an address by comrade Santosh Kumar, on behalf of the Delhi Committee. He spoke on the subject of “the role of organization in today’s situation”, pointing out the significant role played by HNES in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections in exposing the political arrangements of the bourgeoisie. While the intense problems faced by the workers, peasants, women and youth were ignored in these elections, the main parliamentary parties were more concerned with which among the was going to become the manager for the bourgeoisie over the next five years and who among their leaders was going to become the Prime Minister of the country. They were seen fighting like cats and dogs in this competition for seats.
He called to the youth to equip themselves with the politics of the working class and actively participate in the struggle of the workers and peasants to establish a socialist society.
Two members of the Delhi Committee then presented the report of the activities of the organization since the last Convention. The presentation was followed by enthusiastic interventions on the report from the activists present.
Com. Prakash Rao, spokesperson of the Communist Ghadar party of India addressed the Convention on behalf of the CC of the CGPI. He congratulated the members for the work and unity of the organization. He called the lie of the bourgeois claim that it was bringing youth power into politics, when in fact, every one of these youngsters were being given a privileged position in their parties by virtue of being the son or daughter of political families! He pointed out that these parties have no solution to the problems of the worker-peasant youth and urged the youth that we should never forget for a moment that our objective is to establish the rule of workers and peasants and end the rule of the bourgeoisie.
This was followed by the elections to the Delhi Committee of the organization, the election of the Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
The Convention concluded with the Prime Minister giving the call to the activists that “we should take our politics and work to every person in every corner of Delhi” and the song “dekho rang badal raha hai aasman ka” that reflects the hope of every working class youth. Slogans of “Hum hai iske maalik, hum hai Hindustan” and Inquilab Zindabad rent the air as the youth brought another successful Convention to a close.
