In the memory of our revolutionary martyrs!

Hind Naujawan Ekta Sabha (HNES) organized a sports and cultural competition on 8 February 2009 in a Municipality School in Indira Kalyan Vihar, a working class locality situated in South Delhi. The programme was organized under the banner of "Krantikari Shaheedon ki Yaad Mein" in which more than 600 children and youth enthusiastically participated. Te competition was followed by a political-cultural programme.

Representative of Lok Raj Sangathan (LRS) and Communist Ghadar Party of India (CGPI) were invited for the political cultural programme. Ranju Minhas, President of Masjid Moth Resident Welfare Association and Dr Shalini Sharif of Vallabhbhai Patel Chritable Institute also attended the programme.

The day-long event was like a big mela, with hundreds of children's youth congregated on the school playground. The organizers had set up an exhibition narrating the lives and work of our martyrs. The story of 1857 Ghadar was depicted through huge posters, while the aims and objectives of the HNES were displayed prominently at the main gate of the venue, inspiring the youth to become members of the organization.

The members HNES were see busy organizing various competitions and were assisted by the local youth volunteers in managing the events. The political-cultural programme began towards the evening, in which thousands of local residents participated. Chief Minister of Delhi Committee of HNES, Anand gave a brief narration about the organization, its aims and objectives. He said the organization was established in June 2001 in Mumbai. Since the it has been actively working amongst the youth on various parts of India to raise the their political consciousness. The conditions are changing rapidly. People are being robbed on daily basis through increased price rise, and their struggle for rights is crushed through state terrorism. he appealed to the youth to rise up against this and get organize to lead the struggle.

Bijju Nayak, Secretary of Delhi Committee of LRS and peoples' candidate during the last assembly elections addressed the gathering and explained the importance of lok raj samitis to carry forward the struggle to its logical end.

Addressing the gathering representative of CGPI exhorted the youth to follow in the foot-steps of our revolutionary martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Suhkdev and organize to establish the rule of workers and peasants in our country. This is the duty of working class youth.

Other speakers who addressed the gathering included Avadhesh Kumar, a teacher and HNES activist, Ranju Minhas, and Dr Malini Sharif. They also gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions. At the end of the programme the cultural troupe of Rangbhoomi Natya Samooh presented the now famous Bhangra dance, based on a popular revolutionary song. The audience clapped along and called for encore. The aim of organizing this event was to make the local members and volunteers of HNES capable of organizing and leading the people. Avadhesh Kumar, Aurangzeb and Neeraj Kumar for the locality took lead and successfully organized the event after hard work on about a month. They organized the children and youth to participate and collected contribution for the local people to fund the programme. Through their hard work and dedication the youth made this programme a grand success, that was beyond the expectations.
