Protest at the Haryana Bhavan in Delhi

Workers’ organizations, people’s organizations and trade unions of Delhi and Faridabad came together on July 21 to protest in front of the Haryana Bhavan in New Delhi demanding justice for the victims of the Lakhani Fire Scam.

On May 1, 2009, the Lakhani Shoe factory in Faridabad, Haryana was the scene of a horrifying fire in which dozens of workers lost their lives and many were injured. But police and administration have not yet brought out a list of the workers who died in the fire and workers who were injured during the fire. No criminal report has been filed against the owner of the factory. At the end of the protest, a representative’s body submitted a formal letter to the Resident Commissioner.

People’s Voice supports the struggle for justice to the victims of the fire acsident and demands that the owner of the factory be punished for this gruesome act.
