May Day commemorated in Sanjay Colony

On the occasion of May Day, a solemn ceremony was held at 8’o clock in the morning at the office of the Communist Ghadar Party of India situated in Sanjay Colony. After paying homage to the martyrs of Chicago, the air was rent with slogans such as ‘May Day Zindabad!’, ‘Red salute to the martyrs of Chicago!’ ‘Workers of all countries, unite!’, ‘Ham hai iske Maalik – Ham hai Hindoostan – Mazdoor, Kisan, Aurat aur Naujawan!’ (We are the owners – we are India – workers, peasants women and youth!).

A number of comrades, members of the area committee and supporters of the Party enthusiastically took part in the function. Addressing the gathering on behalf of the area committee of the Party, Comrade Birju Nayak elaborated on the all – sided attacks of the ruling class on the workers. The aim of the working class should be to take control of the state itself – to become the ruling class. Only by doing so can the economy be reoriented to serve the needs of the workers and peasants, and all the toiling sections of society.

Finally, a call was given to participate in the joint May Day rally as was done every year. A senior comrade then unfurled the red flag and the function was brought to an end with the singing of the Internationale.
