In memory of Comrade Shiv Kumar Mishra

Sir,

I would like to join the CGPI in paying my respects to the memory of Comrade Shiv Kumar Mishra who recently passed into history in Kanpur. The deeds and words of comrades such as he will be will a source of great inspiration for the revolutionaries of today and tomorrow. His name is indelibly associated with those of Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh who fought valiantly against British imperialism and with those of Charu Mazumdar, Saroj Dutta and so many other revolutionaries who gave up their lives for the liberation of the toiling Indian masses. Their undying faith in the path of revolution should be hailed by one and all.

I also thank the party for carrying a report in People's Voice on the Memorial Meeting held in New Delhi and am pleased to learn that the spokesperson of our party was one of the speakers. It is very inspiring to learn that despite the great difficulties experienced by the cadres of the CPI (ML) during the bitter period of 1967 and afterwards, which resulted in the splitting of the Communist movement and allowed the retrograde forces to take over the destiny of the country in the period that ensued until today, with the assistance of the turncoats and traitors in the revolutionary camp, men such as Comrade Mishra never lost their revolutionary zeal and continued their untiring work. The lives of such men and women and their work will be a beacon for generations of revolutionaries.

Indeed, there is no better tribute than dipping the red banner in the memory of Comrade Mishra as our party has done.

Sincerely,
G. Rajan
Chennai
