I am writing to thank the Central Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India for its pointed and uncompromising statement has that appeared on you website, condemning the sectarian violence unleashed against the working people of Mumbai by the fascist shock troops of the bourgeoisie. There is an effort to divert the debate into a discussion on whether it is this faction or that faction of the this party of that party, rather than to denounce and condemn the violence outright.

While the going has been great for the bourgeoisie in the last several years under the aegis of liberalization and globalization, the corresponding pain and anguish of the working peoples have only been increasing. There is a great deal of insecurity and questions are arising in the broad sections of the Indian people as to what globalization and liberalization is actually all about. In this atmosphere, the bourgeoisie closes its ranks from time to time and sets out to paralyze the people of India by unleashing waves of violence. It serves to terrorize the people and to roll back the gains that it may have made in terms of its consciousness and buys time for the bourgeoisie to reorient itself.

The history of the last sixty years have shown that the bourgeoisie stops at nothing to preserve its rule. It unleashes violence against tribals here in Assam and there in Orissa, against Muslims here in UP and there in Gujarat, against Sikhs all over India, against Christians in Orissa, against Dalits, the list being endless. The people of India must be ever watchful of these atrocious and dastardly acts of the bourgeoisie. In this regard, I congratulate the party for its unstinting support to the brave and fighting people of India and for its upholding the beacon of sanity and its refusal to compromise and yield to the pressure for conciliation.
