People's Voice has received the news that NAPM Karnataka Convenor, A.D.Babu was brutally murdered
on July 20.

Babu was on his way to attend a meeting organised by NAPM at Ramnagaram, along with other co-workers, when their vehicle was stopped at Mayanagram, a few km, before the meeting venue. Babu was dragged out and killed on the spot by a group of men armed with knives and swords. It is suspected that the strong liquor mafia in Karnataka, which has been opposing the anti-liquor campaign of NAPM, is behind this gruesome murder.

Babu was known as an active member of NAPM, who recently became Convenor of the state unit.

People's Voice condemns the murder of A.D.Babu, as an attack on all forces working in defence of the rights of the poor and oppressed people. We stand in solidarity with the comrades of NAPM in this moment of grief.
