Massive protests mark fourth anniversary of Iraq invasion

People all over the world commemorated the fourth anniversary of the US – led invasion with massive protests in which hundreds of thousands participated. Protests were held all across North America as well as in several cities of South America, in Sweden, Spain, Greece, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Australia, Japan, Turkey and other countries.

There were many actions leading up to these protests as well, such as the January 27, 2007 demonstration in Washington DC calling for a withdrawal of all US troops from Iraq, the February 24, 2007 action in which 100,000 people marched in London, UK with the same demands and also to oppose the replacement of the Trident system, the UK’s submarine-based ballistic missile nuclear weapons system, and demonstrations throughout US on March 14, 2007 when the British Parliament was to debate the matter. The March 17, 2007 demonstrations in Korea were preceded by demonstrations in the days before opposing the joint US – ROK military exercises. People everywhere voiced their strong opposition to the wars launched by the US and other imperialists in Afghanistan and Iraq and also the belligerence against other countries such as Iran.
