Condemn state organized murder of revolutionaries

The Editor,

Sir,

Apropos the article in the January 16-13, 2007 issue of PV on the murder of communist revolutionaries, I would like to join you in expressing my outrage at the state organized murder of Comrades Chandramouli and Kavitha on December 28 in Vishakhapatnam. It is my understanding that the couple is survived by young children and no words can express our sadness at the plight of these children. It is also a reflection on the barbarity of the Indian state in present day conditions. While preaching democracy and tolerance abroad, including to the various forces in Nepal and elsewhere, the Indian state has excelled at the most brutal repression of anyone who make speak against its policies. The state of the Indian bourgeoisie has always been this way, at times covering its tracks with this or that window dressing and other times openly attacking revolutionaries, as we witnessed in the late 1960's and during the emergency. It has found the mask of liberal democracy a useful ploy to garner the support of sections of the intelligentsia and well meaning individuals, while carrying out the most anti-people activities. In the present era, the Indian state is keenly advancing the aims of the big bourgeoisie in its emergence as the leader of a big power. Big bourgeoisie wants to be a massive international player and hopes that through its intensification of exploitation at home, it will be able to garner the muscle and resources to do so. The state has no option but to be heavy handed against any opposition. Its guns are specially trained at Communist revolutionaries as it knows where the mainstay of resistance is going to come from. All revolutionaries must unite to denounce the heavy handedness of the Indian state and condemn the murder of our Comrades at this time.

Sincerely,
A. Narayan, Bangalore
