Necessity for further discussion
Sir,
I am writing to thank you for your thought provoking and interesting article entitled "Terrorism and Misinformation are tools of Fascism and Imperialist War" in the October 1-15, 2006 issue of PV. You have placed on record many inconvenient aspects of the events surrounding the tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001 in New York. You have discussed how this tragedy was used as a plank by the US led imperialists to launch a war of aggression and conquest against two sovereign nations which remain under the yoke of invasion since that time. You have also pointed out that there remain innumerable gaps in the official explanations peddled by the US administration, whose own track record on truth is now plumbing unimaginable depths.Permit me, however, to quote the following passage from the article: "The past five years have witnessed a new upsurge in the worldwide movement against fascism and imperialist war. Nations and peoples of the world are refusing to accept Anglo-American regime change and nation building. The patriots in Afghanistan and Iraq continue to strike powerful blows at the imperialist occupation forces and their local collaborators. The majority of people within the US are demanding the withdrawal of occupation troops from Iraq. The valiant fighters of Lebanon and Palestine have inspired other Arab peoples to also rise against the aggressive, racist and expansionist US backed Israeli state. A growing number of governments in Latin America have begun to openly resist US domination and dictate, a sign of the upsurge in anti-imperialist struggles in that continent.''
While the trends above are a source of inspiration for the peoples every where in the world, I would be happy to see a further discussion on the content and nature of this movement. A movement such as this necessarily requires a revolutionary theory. How is the movement to develop such a theory? It must start out by asking what the fundamental reasons for war are. It must ask why the various regimes in the middle-east and in Latin America have and are continuing to carry out their activities in the manner that they are. It must pave the path for the liberation of all mankind from the present condition of slavery.Sincerely,
A. Narayan
